Musings of a Dumb Ass
One of the great things about putting your thoughts down in a way that others can see what's on your mind at their leisure is that it's 'there', and once said you really can't take it back.
The interesting thing is to attempt to place a value in what you say. Now that becomes a study in futility, because there is no scale to measure such a thing with.
Thoughts that are spoken or written have fascinated me for a very long time. Not so much my own, but others. Not always the thoughts of the famous, but those close to me too. The common thread that ties thought process of all people famous or not, is that it never totally makes sense. From a distance or in retrospect thoughts always reveal not only the strengths and weaknesses of the person, but also morality and honesty.
Nothing much matters about what someone is thinking unless they're respected, or powerful.... What the person who puts hamburgers in a sack at McDonald's thinks is seldom relevant or important, and almost never remembered, meanwhile what his/her boss thinks may change their life dramatically and unexpectedly.
Our entire world is predatory. Not a kind or considerate way to exist, but that's the way it works.
It's odd that we all have an idea how a better and more perfect world should work, but it never happens. As those that give us hope come over the horizon we're ready to embrace them in pursuit of a better way, but we never seem to have success in pursuit of better or perfect. If it appears we are, one has only to think about it to figure out what's really going to happen. Thoughts coupled with history will point to mistakes that produced misery, usually repeated in some fashion again and again, which can make you judgemental very quickly about those who are headed blindly to certain failure and disaster. That's a little scary.
Maybe that thinking stuff ain't good. It makes me crazy sometimes............
